(Third Edition)

This short book on the major doctrines of Mary, the mother of Jesus was initially presented to Our Lady of Good Counsel Prayer Group, Surrey B.C. Canada, in preparation for the Holy Year of Mary (Pentecost, 1987 to Assumption, 1988). After the eight sessions were presented I agreed to write down the talks so that those who wanted a copy could have one. In the meantime I got involved in studies at university and was not able to complete the task of writing down the presentations until 1990. In writing the talks I have found it necessary to expand and clarify them to the point that they include somewhat more material. In this process God has given me additional insights some directly as I contemplated the material I was presenting and some points I gleaned from listening to others. For these reasons I now refer to this developed compilation of the original presentations as a treatise.

I am grateful to many people both personal friends and writers on Mary who, through the Holy Spirit, have given me insights into the role of Mary in God's plan of redemption for the human race. I am also open to correction and offers of further insight into Mary's role in God's plan. I would consider such corrections, expansions and clarifications for inclusion in future editions of this little treatise.

Since this book was published in 1991 there have been many changes in the world and in the Christian Church. This updated version of My Soul Magnifies the Lord reflects much of those changes.
